Mike and I are busy trying to adjust to life in the hospital. We have had lots of visitors and phone calls, Mike has gone home each day to send out emails and our cell phones ring constantly. Mike brought the laptop to the hospital and DVDs so I finally got to watch that movie I started on Sunday afternoon!
Lydia had a big day. She started with a tube feeding of milk! All went well and she seemed to enjoy it. The cardiologist came in again to check her heart and her duct is still open. She will need medicine to help it close, and she can't have food and medicine together, so she is going to have to wait a few more days to eat again. She is now under the bililights too, but is experimenting with not using the CPAP. We will see how it goes.
Teagan is doing fine, spending lots of time sleeping under the bililights and making us laugh because she holds onto whatever she can find lying near her. She holds on to the wires for her heart monitor, the tape on the edge of her diaper or our fingers if they are nearby. She sucks on her pacifier like crazy and sleeps like a starfish, all her legs and arms sticking out. I keep trying to tuck her arms and legs in closer to her chest, but she just stretches out again.
