New Beds!

The girls, especially Lydia were getting too big for their cribs. We had wanted to give them beds for Christmas, but after a week of sleepless nights for Mommy and Daddy-Poppa, we decided there was no time like the present.


Here are the girls asleep in their beds for the very first time.

We had no idea how complicated purchasing beds and bedding would be.

After ordering the beds online and picking them up on Friday; Saturday morning we took down the cribs, cleaned and rearranged the furniture. Next, we headed to Ikea on for comforters, bedding and a bedside table. Then, we went to Costco to buy 2 twin mattresses. However, Costco had no mattresses, because apparently mattresses are a seasonal item. I have no idea what season is mattress season, so if anyone else knows, please fill me in! We found mattresses at a local mattress store, washed a ton of laundry, made the beds and put the girls to sleep for the first time. Whew... it was exhausting.

And, oh, did I forget to mention that the time changed that night too? Mike says normal people do not try to do this much in one day... I guess that confirms what we all knew, we are not normal.
